The person who fills this role will be on the front-line of receiving and releasing equipment into and out of our auction yard. The Opportunity: Reporting to the Equipment Manager, this role is ideal for someone 'hands-on', who enjoys working with customers, and who has an eagle eye for detail. In this role you'll: Be the first point of contact for customer questions and issues related to the heavy equipment inventory. Administer shipping & receiving documents related to the movement of the equipment to and from the auction site, and enter related information into the appropriate software systems. Accurately identify equipment serial numbers, record basic equipment descriptions and label the equipment correctly. Promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees and customers is top priority for all. Provide assistance as required to the rest of the DEI Team. Assist the Sales team with appraisals and write-ups in the field between peak periods, as required. Job Requirements Here's what you bring: 1 to 2+ years of similar experience. High school graduate. Any post-secondary education is an asset. Knowledge of -- or the desire to learn about -- construction equipment and trucks. Proficient with computers and good working knowledge / experience using MS Office Suite products (e.g. Word, Excel). Documentation processing experience is an asset. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. You must be process-oriented and comfortable adhering to company policies and procedures to be successful in this role. Strong customer service orientation. You have a natural ease dealing with customers. Excellent organizational skills. You're the type that leaves no detail unattended. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines. Highly motivated, goal-oriented and self directed, and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively. You thrive working as part of a team and pitch-in wherever needed. You like to work hard but still have fun on the job. This job will require you to: Have a valid, clean driver's license. Work both indoors and outdoors year-round and climb on and off large equipment and trucks. Work regular overtime, including weekend hours, at 5 onsite and 4 offsite auction sales. You can expect to work extra hours for 2-3 weeks prior to each sale, during each sale, and for 1-2 weeks after each sale. Travel 10% to other auction sites within the region.
